Job Description
Responsibilities
- Liaise with the sales team and customers to advise and provide design solutions for their applications
- Evaluate and develop new products
- Produce documentation to support design verification, validation and safety requirements
- Produce drawings and manufacturing information for proposals and manufacturing purposes
- Contact and technical liaison with suppliers for information on materials and technical data
- Provide engineering and technical advice to all internal departments
- Support operations and quality team to resolve manufacturing and testing issues
- Attend and support internal / external meetings as required
- Provide technical support to the sales team to ensure that quotations, associated drawings and documents are in place aligned to the company quality policy and procedures
- Review and improve engineering department policies and procedures
- Report all accidents, incidents, near misses or unsafe situations to immediate line manager or member of the senior management team
- Work to the required procedures and processes to meet the company target of zero LTI’s. This includes all on-site visitors, clients, staff, etc.
- Adhere to all statutory requirements
- Ensure that agreed training and operating plans are adhered to
- Any other appropriate tasks that may be required to support the wider business
Requirements and Skills
- 3 years' experience in a similar role
- HND in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent communication skills and effective team player
- Product design knowledge and expertise
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and analytical software tools
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
- Stakeholder management
- Excellent organization skills with an ability to develop creative solutions to problem areas in the business
- Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative at all times
- Working knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA process application
