Walker & Sloan is recruiting a Design Manager for our esteemed client based in Bristol. The role involves overseeing the design process for 2-3 live projects, supporting site teams, and ensuring that all design deliverables meet project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design team on live projects, ensuring efficient design delivery.
- Support site teams in managing the design process.
- Create and monitor Design Information Required Schedules (IRS).
- Develop and communicate the Design Responsibility Matrix (DRM).
- Review design information on the A-Site document control platform.
- Resolve technical queries with the design team.
- Ensure compliance with contractor proposals and employer requirements.
- Identify and implement value engineering options.
- Participate in pre-construction tenders to assess design solutions and risks.
- Chair design team meetings and produce minutes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager in construction.
- Strong understanding of design processes.
- Proficiency with design/document control software, including A-Site.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience in value engineering.
