Blackpool Sixth is an outstanding college specialising in 16-19 education, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Designated Member of Staff forLooked After Students to join our team. We want to ensure that our care experienced students are fully supported and this position is well suited to you if you can provide that support. We can offer you a hugely rewarding role as part of our friendly, dedicated and close-knit team. This post is 36.25hours per week over 5 days, staff term time only.

Based in our Additional Learning Support Team you will work closely with others in the department to support your students to achieve their ambitions. This post is in place to support our vulnerable students who require specialist support to break down the barriers to learning, and preparing them for adulthood. We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to help our vulnerable students to achieve. The results speak for themselves, all of our high needs students who completed in summer 2023 achieved success in their studies and went on to higher education or employment with training.

A day in the Additional Learning Support team could see you:

• Representing the college at external student support meetings
• Preparing for personal education plan meetings with the local authority, and attending as the college representative
• Supporting vulnerable students through being a Member of the college safeguarding team
• Supporting students in class with their learning
