Are you seeking a role that gives you satisfaction in knowing that you have played a part in changing people’s lives and/or wanting to ‘give something back’ to your community?

We are offering a salary of £23,400 working on a day/night rota of 3 on and 3 off (£12 per hour) with a superb benefits package including:

· Up to 33 days annual leave per annum with 2 discretionary days for birthday and Christmas shopping

· Contributory pension scheme

· Blue Light Card Scheme

· Additional hours available to work

· Corporate events

We are one of the top performing abstinence based residential drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation centres in the UK on the look-out for that special kind of person who can communicate well with people and is motivated to make a difference in people's lives.

The detox unit is an eight bedded unit with 2 beds being in another unit. We take a variety of clients from Staffordshire, surrounding areas and out of area, and provide a medically managed service where we detox clients from a variety of substances.

The purpose of this role is to enable residents living in our accommodation to build, develop and utilise independent living skills in order to re-integrate back into the community whilst empowering them through the provision of a safe and secure living environment.

We are looking for someone who is a team player and shares our organisational values.

The main duties include:

· Induct new clients into the BAC O'Connor Centre, providing them with the information they need when they join us.

· Complete the paperwork with the clients including care plans/risk assessments

· Ensure all processes are followed when a client is admitted.

Ø To be considered you will have…

· Effective communication skills

· Ability to form positive relations with service users

· Desire to support people to become contributing members of their society and to lead a healthy happy life

Note: this job specification is intended to outline the general nature and level of work performed within this role. It is not exhaustive and may be subject to change or modification based on organisational needs.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and we expect our employees and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar an applicant from working for us; the nature of a disclosed conviction and its relevance to the post in question will be considered in all circumstances

We are committed to the fair treatment of our staff, potential staff or users of our services, regardless of age; disability; gender reassignment; marriage and civil partnership; pregnancy and maternity; race; religion or belief; sex; sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnerships, social class or economic status.

We would also encourage applications from individuals with a lived experience of substance misuse
