We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Web and Digital Experience Team within IT. We deliver a diverse range of digital projects and solutions in support of council services. Projects include a re-design of the council website using front-end technologies such as TypeScript, React and Bootstrap, as well as the continuing maintenance of the council's intranet (built and maintained with SharePoint, SharePoint Framework and PowerShell). We also maintain websites that are built with tools such as React and WordPress. The successful candidate will work closely with the team's Development Analyst and Snr Development Officer and have knowledge and experience of web development, with a focus on JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks. You will be proficient in HTML and CSS, have knowledge of version control tools (the team uses GitLab), comfortable working with APIs and have a good awareness of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. You will be involved in all aspects of software development lifecycles, considering users, technology, and processes. A collaborative approach is required and is a key part of how the team operates. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with the ability to problem solve and conduct independent research. The successful candidate will be supported in this role with opportunities to develop including the option for training and mentoring.
