Development Charging Officer
Full time (35 hours per week) – Permanent - £39,039 pa

You will be responsible for co-ordinating the collection of property information for the security charging process at Hightown – ensuring that properties are charged within agreed timescales. It will be varied and challenging role, requiring tenacity and a high attention to detail. You will identify and prioritise property/stock to securitise/charge in liaison with Head of Treasury and Head of Development; liaise with solicitors, surveyors, Local Authority partners and members of the Development Team; collate charging packs in accordance with our Solicitors requirements within the agreed deadlines, deal with Solicitors queries and produce reports on progress of the charging portfolio within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that all projects are charged in accordance with Hightown Treasury Policy and charging targets and obligations.
- To ensure that the charging information prepared by Development Officers on newly completed schemes is comprehensive and prepared in a timely manner.
- To negotiate deeds of variation to existing S106 agreement and/or land transfers with local authorities to allow existing schemes to be charged at optimum value/MV-ST and update the Head of Treasury when changes have been agreed.
- To produce and review charging procedures, ensuring Development/Property data is collected and stored appropriately.
We're looking for someone with:
- A thorough understanding of the property conveyance process and key lender requirements.
- Knowledge of finance and property management systems and databases.
- Awareness and knowledge of property charging/securitisation process.
- A track record of analysing and interpreting large volumes of data.
- The ability to take ownership for resolving problems, demonstrating courage and resilience in dealing with difficult situations.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to develop good relationships with colleagues and able to effectively communicate at all levels.
