We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Development Control Team, in a key service support role. You will preferably have experience of the delivery of support activities to a Development Control service and experience in the validation of planning applications. This should include the use and development of information technology systems to deliver and improve local authority planning services. Experience, knowledge or understanding of Local Authority Land Charges and Right to Buy services will be a distinct advantage, as will the ability to manage a small team of support staff.
As a key member of the Development Control Team, your role will be diverse. It will involve assuming primary responsibility for the team registering and validating planning and related applications, and for delivering the Local Land Charges Service. However, you will also be a key player in the maintenance and development of the Information Technology Systems used to support the delivery of the Planning and Land Charges services. The supervision of team members administering elements of the Council’s Right to Buy service will be an aspect of the role.
Working knowledge of Idox Cloud Planning (formerly Tascomi) and Cadcorp GIS systems will be a strong advantage, but knowledge of comparable systems will be considered.
Recognising the diversity of the skills and experience sought in this post holder, applications will be welcomed from candidates that have some, but not necessarily all elements of pre-existing experience. The ability to evidence that you have potential to acquire the required full skillsets and knowledge will be considered.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re a strong team player with good communication and excellent organisational skills, who seeks rewarding varied work and the responsibility of delivering these important statutory services at North Warwickshire.
The Council offers an excellent employment package with flexible working, including remote working opportunities, Local Government pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
