SalaryWe are seeking a Development Engineer to work for an international component manufacturer based in Kent.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting product development activities from concept through to customer acceptance
- Supporting and contributing to new business opportunities
- Support new business proposals and sales quotations
- Supporting Operations to ensure the smooth implementation to series production of developed product
- Contributing to the Technology Plan for the development and identification of new product opportunities
- Supporting Quality in investigations, correct actions and process improvements
Candidate requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering with a good understanding of electrical principles
- Demonstrable understanding of CAD systems
- Solid Design Engineering background
- A basic understanding of data rates and electronics
- Demonstrable experience in introducing products into high-risk environments (NPI)
- Strong understanding of designing a top-level product which includes all components, BOM, technical processes, operations and logistics
- Open minded, strategic and creative thinking
- Ability to manage a project through to completion
