Devops Manager (Azure/Kubernetes)

Cloud Architect (Azure) is an experienced craftsperson. The DevOps Manager (Azure/Kubernetes) makes code level architectural decisions and steers best-in-class implementation. The DevOps Manager (Azure/Kubernetes) continuously pushes for clean, reusable code, high testability and maintainability of the codebase. The DevOps Manager (Azure/Kubernetes) values simplicity and is unafraid to challenge technical constraints and procedures to achieve an Agile design. The DevOps Manager (Azure/Kubernetes) works closely with all team members to create a modular, scalable solution that addresses/incorporates future architectural changes and designs. The DevOps Manager (Azure/Kubernetes) will drive the teams engineering practices in test driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment. The DevOps Manager (Azure/Kubernetes) is a hands-on team member who actively coaches the team to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide Platform engineer team on speed of delivery, improving quality/security of code, and optimizing processes to deliver consistent and holistic solution to the organization ​
• Mentor and coach the technical team​
• Be hands on and engage in coding to help the team to develop their solution and solve all surfacing problems at hand ​
• Identifies and removes technical impediments​
• Constantly looking for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo​
• Provides the team a roadmap for implementing software engineering practices for higher code quality​
• Identify bottlenecks in coding development and deployment processes ​
• Lead planning delivery time, code quality, and process efficiency improvement projects ​
• Execute on plan by building coding standardizations and automating processes for the organization​
• Lead knowledge growth effort of platform configuration management and troubleshooting

Skills / Qualifications

• Experience in setting up and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in production (Azure)​
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes operations (custom resources, operators)​
• Experience developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK)​
• Working knowledge of developing automation scripts with Python and/or Typescript​
• Experience setting up and configuring CI/CD pipelines with GitOps approach (GitLab, ArgoCD)​
• Familiarity with Azure operations and access management (managed identities, resource utilisation)
