Job Purpose: As the Digital Content Executive, you will be responsible for conceptualising, developing and producing content for the purpose of driving traffic to our site, reinforcing brand awareness, and supporting the company's digital marketing initiatives.

Reports To: Head of Digital Marketing

Working Partnerships: Digital Marketing Specialist, Performance Marketing Manager, Photography Editor, Social Media Assistant, Marketing Assistant


JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

WEBSITE CONTENT CREATION AND OPTIMISATION

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Specialist and the Content Committee to ideate, produce and optimise web content and Travel Notes blog posts, following SEO best practices.
  • Based on SEO objectives, create new website content that improves organic visibility.
  • Implement on-page SEO (metadata, headers, URLs, etc.) to improve search engine rankings.
  • Regularly update on-site content including copy, photography and video, to ensure it remains relevant, engaging, and searchable. Execute all website content changes and coordinate with the relevant team members to get these implemented.
  • Proactively monitor and stay abreast of digital marketing industry trends, innovations, and best practices to inform and enhance content strategy on our website.
  • Liaise with agencies to ensure IT/FR/DE variations of the site are accurate and reflect our brand tone of voice; upload translations provided by agencies to our localisation platform.


OFF-PAGE SEO

  • Execute effective content outreach to drive link-building and enhance domain authority and credibility.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on new channel content to develop off-page SEO, from drafting copy for YouTube, Pinterest and TikTok, to video asset creation based on target keywords and new generative AI search requirements.

AD COPY

  • Craft engaging and compelling copy for various paid platforms, including display ads, social media ads, and paid search ads.
  • Support Performance Marketing Manager with the review and optimisation of our paid search ad copy.
  • A/B test different ad copies to determine which resonates best with our target audiences.
  • Work with our translators to implement ad copy translations for our different markets.

CAMPAIGNS

  • Ensure timely delivery of campaign assets across copy-based traffic drivers, paid media ad copy and on-site campaign touch-points - liaising with relevant teams.
  • Oversee the scheduling and updating of the website's content calendar to ensure timely communication with stakeholders about forthcoming content.

WEBSITE MERCHANDISING AND AB TESTING

  • Review and update content placements along the core user journey to ensure KPIs perform at required levels.
  • Co-ordinate with the Marketing team on implementing personalised journeys and AB testing.
  • Maintain and optimise our site search functionality, ensuring that products are promoted in line with business goals and seasonality.
  • Conduct a monthly review of our top translated pages to ensure quality is maintained.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

  • Support the Senior Photo Editor in filing, tagging and live updating of photography and video assets, in order to enable the team to quickly and easily access the required assets.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Formal training in SEO content writing.
  • Strong understanding of web merchandising principles, such as how to use product placement, call-to-actions, and other design elements to influence user behaviour and drive conversions.
  • A proven track record of creating captivating online travel content.
  • Proficiency in keyword research and integration, meta descriptions, and content optimisation techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing ad copy for various paid campaigns.
  • Ability to craft messages that prompt desired actions from the target audience.
  • Experience of using a CMS preferred.
