We are seeking a creative, highly motivated, and strategically minded individual to become our Marketing and Communications Manager.
Summary
Nurse Lifeline (NLL) is a registered charity founded in 2020 which focuses on improving the mental health, emotional well-being and resilience of nurses and midwives across the UK. We do this by providing a portfolio of unique listening services and resources ‘run by nurses and midwives for nurses and midwives.’ As a peer-to peer model, Nurse Lifeline is designed to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for the nursing and midwifery community to offload and decompress with like-minded professionals united by a common experience and shared understanding of what the callers are going through. We do this by providing a support line, an email service, and online resources. We might be a small charity, but we have the potential to make a national impact.
The primary objectives of the role are:
● To increase our reach amongst the nursing and midwifery community nationwide
● To grow our supporter base and increase engagement amongst partners, friends,
supporters and donors
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Marketing:
● Develop and execute marketing and communications strategies that align with the charity's objectives focusing on brand awareness, engagement, and growth.
● Substantially grow our online communities and engagement across all NLL’s social media channels.
● Create a sense of community and build relationships with passionate and influential individuals who can increase NLL’s impact.
2. Public Relations:
● Coordinate the charity’s response to all press enquiries.
● Cultivate relationships with journalists, particularly with the health and nursing press, and proactively pitch stories to secure media coverage that highlights the charity's achievements and impact.
3. Branding:
● Enhance and further develop Nurse Lifeline’s brand.
● Develop and deliver content including video for Nurse Lifeline’s website.
● Manage and ensure regular and timely website updates and ensure web content
added by team members and volunteers meets structure and brand guidelines.
4. Fundraising:
● Develop and implement fundraising campaigns and initiatives to attract and retain donors, sponsors, and partners.
5. Donor Engagement:
● Build and maintain relationships with donors through personalised communication,
thank-you campaigns, and stewardship efforts to ensure donor loyalty and support.
6. Storytelling:
● Craft compelling narratives and stories about the charity's work, beneficiaries, volunteers and impact to engage and inspire our audiences.
7. Content Creation:
● Produce high-quality content, including press releases, articles, social media posts, newsletters and video to showcase the charity's achievements and services.
8. Digital Marketing:
● Utilise digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising, to promote the charity and engage with supporters.
● Keep abreast of digital marketing trends, emerging digital platforms and online spaces that could provide opportunities to increase brand awareness and income through class participation and donations.
9. Data Analysis:
● Monitor and analyse the performance/effectiveness of marketing and fundraising efforts, using data-driven insights to optimise strategies and achieve goals.
● Use data and insight to refine the approach to better serve and engage target audiences.
10. Collaboration:
● Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, volunteers and Trustees, to ensure alignment of marketing and PR efforts with the charity's mission.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
● Proven experience in marketing, public relations, and fundraising, in the non-profit sector, ideally in health-related causes.
● Demonstrated success in creating and implementing innovative marketing strategies.
● Strong understanding of donor acquisition and stewardship best practices.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Have excellent experience and understanding of using online and off-line marketing
tools and techniques to increase the visibility, profile and reputation of our
organisation.
● Creative thinking and strong storytelling abilities.
● Strong project management and organisational skills.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
● Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude.
● Creative thinker with the ability to think strategically and analytically.
● Effectively self-manage the role and choose and prioritise the most effective
marketing activations to maximise time allocated.
● Passion for the charity's mission and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
