Position Overview:

Shiatsu Society UK (SSUK) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Digital Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic remote team. This role is crucial to the success and growth of the Shiatsu Society as our primary contact with members is through our website and digital online presence.

The Digital Marketing Coordinator will have the opportunity to learn about the expanding wellbeing industry and how Shiatsu can benefit communities within the UK. The primary purpose of this role is to promote the Shiatsu Society UK vision and support the growth of membership by working closely with the SSUK Virtual Manager and board members to execute tasks and campaigns.

This pivotal role involves developing and implementing Digital Marketing strategies to promote SSUK’s services and initiatives, managing various Digital Marketing channels, analysing campaign performance, and optimising strategies to increase Shiatsu awareness, engagement, and understanding within the wellbeing industry.

1. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Digital Marketing strategies to promote SSUK services in alignment with overall marketing objectives and target audience preferences.
  • Manage and optimise Digital Marketing channels, including but not limited to social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X formerly Twitter, LinkedIn), email marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM) and content marketing.
  • Create compelling and engaging content for Digital Marketing campaigns, including social media posts, blog articles, email newsletters, and website content, focusing on topics related to Shiatsu, general health, wellness, and wellbeing.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for Digital Marketing campaigns, such as website traffic, engagement metrics, conversion rates, and return on investment (ROI), using analytics tools like Google Analytics and social media insights, in coordination with the Virtual Manager and the website manager.
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement in Digital Marketing efforts based on data driven insights and industry trends, adjusting strategies and tactics accordingly to maximise results.
  • Collaborate with internal team members regularly, including the board and the website manager, to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and SSUK branding across all digital channels.g. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Digital Marketing and wellbeing to maintain a competitive edge and drive innovation in marketing strategies.
  • Monitor and respond to member feedback, inquiries, and reviews on digital platforms, maintaining a positive brand reputation and fostering member engagement and loyalty.
  • Coordinate with external partners, agencies, and influencers as needed to amplify Digital Marketing efforts and reach new audiences within the Shiatsu and wellbeing industry.
  • Assist in the creation and management of Digital Marketing budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness in all marketing initiatives.

Review & Improvements Deliverables:

  • Branding & Continuous Improvement: Ensure that all Digital Marketing efforts, including website content, social media posts, email newsletters, and online advertising, align with SSUK brand values and messaging. Determine if the Brand messaging is consistent across all digital channels and is helping to re-enforce the SSUK’s identity and values amongst the target audiences including members.
  • Engaging Visual Content: Create visually appealing and engaging content, such as graphics, images, and videos, that resonate with the target audience and communicate the SSUK’s brand identity effectively. High-quality visuals can help to capture the audience's attention and evoke positive emotions associated with the brand.
  • Storytelling: Use Digital Marketing channels to tell compelling stories about the SSUK’s mission, values, and impact on people's lives. Storytelling humanises the brand and creates an emotional connection with the audience, helping to build trust and loyalty over time.
  • Customer Testimonials and Reviews: Showcase positive member or Shiatsu receiver testimonials and reviews on the SSUKs website, social media profiles, and other digital platforms. Authentic feedback from satisfied Shiatsu receivers serves as social proof of the SSUK’s credibility and can influence growth.
  • Community Engagement: Foster community engagement through Digital Marketing initiatives, such as hosting online events, webinars, or social media challenges related to Shiatsu/wellbeing topics. Encourage member-generated content and active participation from followers to build a sense of SSUK community around the Shiatsu Society brand.
  • Educational Content: Participate in the provision of educational content related to health, wellness, and wellbeing through blog posts, articles, infographics, and video tutorials. Position SSUK as a trusted authority in our niche industry by sharing expert insights, tips, and resources that help members improve their practice.
  • Interactive Experiences: Create interactive experiences or tools, such as quizzes, assessments, or personalised recommendations, that engage members and provide them with actionable insights related to their Shiatsu health and wellbeing. Interactive content enhances user engagement and encourages repeat visits to the SSUKs digital platforms.
  • Partnerships and Collaborations: Explore partnerships and collaborations with influencers, experts, and other brands in the wellbeing industry to expand the Society’s reach and amplify its brand message. Collaborative campaigns and co-branded content can help to attract new audiences and strengthen SSUKs brand positioning.
  • Data-driven Optimisation: Utilise data analytics and insights from Digital Marketing campaigns to continuously optimise branding efforts. Monitor key performance indicators(KPIs) such as website traffic, engagement metrics, and conversion rates to identify areas for improvement and refine strategies accordingly.
  • Responsive Member Support: Provide prompt and responsive member support across digital
  • channels, including social media platforms and email. Address member inquiries, concerns,
  • and feedback about SSUK communications in a timely and empathetic manner to enhance the
  • overall member experience and strengthen brand loyalty.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Website Management: Proficiency in managing and updating content on websites using Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal. This includes basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web design principles to make website updates and optimizations. [this is the role of the website manager]
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Understanding of SEO principles and techniques to optimize website content for search engines and improve organic search visibility. This includes keyword research, on-page optimisation, link building, and monitoring website performance using tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console. [in conjunction with the website manager]
  • Email Marketing: Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or HubSpot to create and execute email campaigns, manage subscriber lists, and analyse campaign performance metrics. Knowledge of email marketing best practices, segmentation, and A/B testing would be preferred.
  • Social Media Management: Proficiency in managing and optimising social media profiles on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. This includes creating engaging social media content, scheduling posts, monitoring social media metrics, and responding to audience engagement.
  • Digital Advertising: Familiarity with digital advertising platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and X Ads to create and manage paid advertising campaigns. Understanding of ad targeting options, bidding strategies, and ad performance analysis is preferable.
  • Analytics and Data Analysis: Ability to analyse data and interpret metrics from various Digital Marketing channels using analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and social media analytics platforms. This includes tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), generating reports, and identifying trends and insights to optimize marketing strategies.
  • Content Creation and Design: Basic proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Canva to create visually appealing graphics, images, and other digital assets for marketing campaigns. Knowledge of video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro or iMovie is also beneficial for creating video content would be preferable.
  • Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration tools is essential.
  • Advertising Codes of Practice: Familiarity with advertising codes of practice.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00 per hour
