Bexley is an outer London Borough with the best of both worlds, located between the hustle and bustle of London and the Garden of England, Kent. Within the borough we have award winning parks, open spaces and listed heritage sites.
The Digital Team is part of the broader ICT & Digital Team which has responsibility for several of the Council’s key systems as well as core ICT services and the Council’s website and digital presence.
About the Role
We are currently looking for someone to join our busy Digital Team to help develop and deliver the Council’s digital strategy. This includes e-forms, portals, system integrations and digitisation of business and customer processes.
The importance of our digital presence through our website and associated portals continues to grow. More and more residents choose to find information, access Council services and make payments using digital channels. We have some exciting future projects and our ambition is to continue the customer journey work that we have started; putting our residents digital experience at the centre of our service redesign.
You should have some experience from a similar role and an awareness of agile project management methodologies. You will have an interest in digitising processes across a large organisation.
We will also need you to gain a good understanding of best practice in digital development, including User Experience (UX) design principles, responsive design and the importance of W3C standards for accessibility.
