Job description

Digital Project Manager: Pay up to £43,347 plus up to 27% employer pension contributions, hybrid home working, flexible hours, and great work life balance.

DWP. Digital with Purpose.

  • Are you an experienced Digital Project Manager? Can you manage large scale projects?
  • Do you want to work on stuff that makes a difference, on products and services which are used by millions of people ever day?

We have exciting opportunities for Digital Project Managers to join us at DWP Digital. You will join a flourishing, supportive community who are delivering the projects behind a once in a generation digital transformation of the UK's biggest government department.

We use a range of skills and methodologies, managing multi-functional delivery teams to deliver change, maintain core DWP applications and deliver new services that support the lives of millions of people, and power payments worth over £195bn a year.

The scale of what we do is outstanding, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

Delivery. Work. Projects.

As Digital Project Manager, you'll build and manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams and suppliers, proactively identifying risks and issues and managing these.

You'll communicate consistently across internal and external stakeholders and manage team dynamics.

One of the first things you will be involved in is the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Experience of implementing an ERP is desirable but not essential.

You're a skilled Project Manager and you take ownership of full projects, or sometimes parts of large-scale programmes, dealing with plans, risks, issues, and dependencies.

We love it when our Project Managers learn and grow, and you'll have access to all the learning and development you need to develop your skills and career.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Experience of taking full responsibility for the definition and satisfactory completion of multiple different Digital Projects.
  • Experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships to shape the outcomes of a project, considering different individual needs, views, and ideas.
  • Can use effective project controls to demonstrate the health of the projects they are responsible for and react accordingly to the information gathered.
  • Ability to communicate in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles and tools to maximise and check understanding and impact.
  • Experience of building team dynamics and identifying ways to improve the way the team is working.

Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work flexibly. We work a hybrid model with a mix of home working and sometime in the office.

In return for your skills, we offer competitive pay of up to £43,347.

You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of over 28.97%.

You'll get a generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, plus all the usual bank holidays, and the option to take extra days off on flexi leave.

We also have a broad benefits package built around your work-life balance which includes:

  • Flexible working, flexi hours and flexi days
  • Hybrid working: some time in a hub with the team, some time at home
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Time off volunteering and charitable giving
  • Bring your authentic self to work with 'I Can Be Me in DWP'
  • Discounts and savings on shopping, fun days out and more
  • Interest-free loans to buy a bike or a season ticket
  • Sports and social activities
  • Working in an award-winning environment and culture
  • Professional development, coaching, mentoring and career progression opportunities.
