Moderna is looking for a visionary Marketing Director to lead our commercial brand strategy in the UK, focusing on our Vaccines Franchise. This critical role involves developing and executing innovative brand plans for our vaccines, including COVID-19 and CMV, and other pipeline assets. The Marketing Director will be at the forefront of shaping Moderna’s market presence, working collaboratively with global and regional teams to create impactful brand narratives and drive disease awareness.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Be the strategic brand expert who drives Moderna’s commercial brand strategy within the UK, with a specific focus on the Vaccines Franchise (including COVID-19, CMV, and other pipeline assets).
Developing the comprehensive and innovative annual Brand plan that supports commercial brand positioning, brand narrative, disease awareness and thought leadership for marketed brands and pipeline assets.
Shape the key elements that define Moderna’s position as a leader in the vaccines market, working closely with the Country Director and the global and regional brand teams.
Work effectively within the vaccines commercial function, across the brands and with market access to ensure consistent strategic and tactical implementation of global and regional communication programs and initiatives to support the global commercial brand strategies.
Ensure clear engagement plans and roadmaps for key stakeholders across functions are aligned to brand strategies.
Support field (and partner) needs including brand training and best in class tactical tools for engagement with customers in face to face and remote/digital settings.
Working with the global and regional brand teams, lead implementation of core media and digital campaigns for optimal use, brand recognition, and ROI.
Provide strong project management/leadership on key communications activities and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time with a high level of quality, in accordance with Compliance, Legal and Regulatory requirements.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Within 3 Months, You Will…
Establish yourself as the strategic brand expert for Moderna’s Vaccines Franchise in the UK.
Initiate the development of a comprehensive annual brand plan, incorporating innovative strategies for commercial brand positioning.
Start shaping the key elements defining Moderna's leadership in the vaccines market, in collaboration with the Country Director and global brand teams.
Within 6 Months, You Will…
Implement strategic and tactical elements of global and regional communication programs in alignment with the brand strategy.
Develop clear stakeholder engagement plans, ensuring alignment with brand strategies.
Provide support for field and partner needs, including brand training and the development of tactical tools for customer engagement.
Within 12 Months, You Will…
Lead the implementation of core media and digital campaigns, optimizing brand recognition and return on investment.
Demonstrate strong project management leadership in key communications activities, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 + years of experience in vaccines/pharmaceuticals brand management and/or customer facing roles. Understanding of and strong interest in vaccines/infectious disease
Demonstrated experience using innovative digital channels and platforms for communications.
Savvy and comfortable making recommendations using different digital channels and platforms
Able to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise language, understandable by all audiences, both verbally and in writing; strong writing skills
Proven ability and hands-on experience navigating complex product communications issues
Knowledgeable in current and evolving communications tactics and channels, including utilizing communications technology such as podcasts, intranets and internal and external social networks
Thinks strategically, prioritizes effectively and delivers high-impact results
Exceptional project management experience, including managing several programs/ projects simultaneously
Strong business acumen and robust understanding of regulatory requirements as they relate to marketing programs and initiatives
Collaborative leadership skills to influence without authority and work effectively with senior leadership
Ability to take initiative and work independently and is comfortable with ambiguity
Effectively negotiates and collaborates with stakeholders; demonstrates the ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner
Strong and respectful interpersonal and partnering skills, and the ability to build meaningful and sustainable relationships at all levels and functions of the organization
A dynamic and positive team player with excellent organizational, influencing, presentation and written communications skills
Solution-oriented, demonstrates quick analysis, thoughtful and ethical judgment, and rapid response on corporate reputational topics and issues, including ability to convincingly articulate the company’s position internally and externally
Pragmatic and willing to drive and support change
Ability to seek diverse input from multiple constituents and stakeholders to drive decisions and innovative solutions
