The Rhodes Trust builds a better world through global fellowship programmes that develop and connect compassionate, innovative, and public-spirited people committed to solving humanity’s challenges. We have over a hundred staff working at Rhodes House in Oxford, and we have a strong international reach with a number of additional overseas staff and many volunteers involved in roles such as selection, alumni relations and class leaders.
Effective, values-based communication is crucially important to our mission and strategy so we are looking for a highly experienced senior Communications professional to maintain the quality and range of the Trust’s communication strategies while the current Director is on maternity leave.
This is not a care-taker role because you will be actively involved in helping us to measure the impact of the Trust’s work, play an integral role on our strategy journey and support key press media, digital channels and print publications work.
At the Rhodes Trust we never stand still, so you will also be responsible for managing, mentoring, and supporting a team of four staff members at Rhodes House; overseeing a large portfolio of marketing collateral; proactively monitoring and shaping news stories; and working closely with communication colleagues based with our strategic partners.
You will have a strong track record of success in directing an organisation’s internal and external communications - including press and digital media - in an international context. You will have an affinity with our brand, excellent organisational and project management skills, and possess a positive and professional manner.
