Job description

Are you an experienced and senior major gifts fundraiser looking for the next step in your career? Would you enjoy leading a large team of outstanding fellow fundraisers? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for our new Director of Development for Schools and Academic Departments to join our team.

Director of Development
Ref: DH39571
Location: Central Cambridge. We practise a hybrid working model and we welcome discussions on flexible working.
Salary: £Highly Competitive

We think this is one of the most exciting opportunities in the sector. You will lead our largest team - a team of senior fundraisers who work to secure transformational gifts for some the University's most exciting and meaningful priorities - anything from English literature and history to artificial intelligence and chemistry, public policy and food security to economics and archaeology.

You will have the opportunity to evolve and drive the programme to ensure that we continue to deliver the gifts that are transformational for the Cambridge Community. Operating across Collegiate Cambridge, you will be a key member of our Senior Management Team, working at the most senior levels of the University in a highly complex environment.

We are a friendly and lively Development and Alumni Relations team who work hard to support and deliver the University of Cambridge's significant potential. The name and reputation of Cambridge is known worldwide, but we are a warm and welcoming community where your experience and perspectives will be recognised and valued.

We are looking for a driven and passionate individual who wants to lead an exceptional team, someone with a strong track record in major gifts fundraising, someone who will ensure that we continue to benefit from the momentum our most recent £2billion campaign has given us. If this is you - and you want to be an integral part of planning what comes next for philanthropy at Cambridge - we'd love to hear from you.

The closing date for this position is 28th January 2024.
The first round interviews are due to take place the week commencing 12th February 2024.
The second round interviews are due to take place the week commencing 19th February 2024.
