About Cast from Clay

We’re a team of creatives that shape and disrupt policy narratives.

At Cast From Clay, our goal is to get policy, unstuck. We work with foundations, NGOs, and campaigning organisations to help them navigate the complexities of policy narratives, and in doing so to shape the policies of tomorrow. We help our clients figure out what to say, to who, and how – in a way that can move things forward.

We work across various policy areas, but in particular in renewable energy and the environment, international development, international affairs, and the wonderful world of food.

That's not the whole story though. We have a second brand - Re://Build - which sells web development services to other agencies. Our website development team is based in Lviv, Ukraine, and as part of our work to support Ukraine in light of the invasion, we set this brand up both to rebuild websites, but also to help rebuild Ukraine. 20% of the profit we generate from this second brand is used to buy prefabricated homes for those made homeless by the invasion.

This digital account manager role spans both brands - you'll be responsible for leading our policy-focused digital work in Cast from Clay, as well as building out Re://Build and developing relationships with other agencies.

The job

We are looking for a Digital Account Manager to manage our digital team on web-related projects across both our core policy-focused business and our secondary agency-focused business.

This will involve supporting initial strategy work (user research, information architecture development, etc.) through to wire-framing and design, and into development. We'll be looking to you to manage and lead these projects from start to finish, and develop your own client relationships. You’ll work closely with our teams in both London, UK, and Lviv, Ukraine.

Recent digital projects include:

oceanenergypathway [dot] org
inkstickmedia [dot] com
newlinesinstitute [dot] org
You’ll be someone who can quickly build relationships (clients and colleagues), has a keen eye for detail, and is able to anticipate issues before they become problems. You’ll have a sense of urgency about you, and not be afraid to muck in to the most mundane of jobs (we’ll be right there with you). You’re comfortable managing several projects at once, keeping an eye on the timeline and prioritising tasks for the team. You understand the commercial angle of business and are able to manage project budgets efficiently.

You’ll also know what you are talking about when it comes to website development. While we don’t expect you to be a developer, we are looking for someone that understands dev chat and knows WordPress well. You will need to be able to translate client requirements into specific developer tasks, and vice versa, be able to translate a technical consideration into language a client can engage with.

You should be able to answer like these questions (without having to Google them):

  1. What is ACF?
  2. How straightforward would it be for a developer to install Yoast, and why would you?
  3. What is CSS minifying and why would you do it?

Working at Cast From Clay is about more than just client work. You’ll be someone with ideas. Someone who thinks outside the box. Most importantly, you'll be someone that gives a sh*t. About your colleagues, about your impact in the world, and about your potential and what you can achieve in your career.

Key skills and experience
We aren’t expecting you to have all of these, but you should be ticking a bunch of them off.

Must have:
- 3+ years of project management experience;
- A good knowledge of WordPress;
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and PHP;
- Understanding of GA4 and SEO principles;
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
- Client management skills;
- Budget management experience;
- Experience coordinating and working with dev teams;
- Good writing skills and eye for design;
- Experience with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite;
- Diligent, proactive, excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic;
- Ability to meet deadlines whilst not letting the ball drop on other projects;
- Working self-sufficiently and as part of a team.

Nice to have:

- Experience working in a creative agency;
- Interest in current affairs and desire to challenge status quo;
- Degree in communications, advertising, marketing or journalism;
- Project management software or ticketing (Monday, Trello, Asana or similar)
- Testing and QA experience;
- Interest in emerging AI technologies (ChatGPT, Midjourney etc).
