Job description

Director of Estates
Salary negotiable upon experience

We aim to lead the world in research and education for the benefit of society both in the UK and globally. Oxford’s researchers engage with academic, commercial and cultural partners across the world to stimulate high-quality research and enable innovation through a broad range of social, policy and economic impacts.

We believe our strengths lie both in empowering individuals and teams to address fundamental questions of global significance, while providing all our staff with a welcoming and inclusive workplace that enables everyone to develop and do their best work. Recognising that diversity is our strength, vital for innovation and creativity, we aspire to build a truly diverse community which values and respects every individual’s unique contribution.

The Director of Estates is a senior officer and holds a pivotal position, providing strategic leadership and overseeing the efficiency, effectiveness, growth and success of our Estates Management services. Reporting to the Registrar, the successful candidate will work closely and in collaboration with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Resources) and the Chair of the Building and Estates Sub-Committee.

The Director will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the university and will lead the University’s overall relationship management of the estates supply chain. The Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the ambitious Estate Strategy in line with the broader institutional strategy including our transformational sustainability agenda.

We are seeking an exceptional leader with a proven track record of leading estates and facilities across a similar diverse and technically complex portfolio. A natural collaborator, you will possess the interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills to succeed in a world-leading higher education institution. This role will suit professionals who excel at delivering innovation, change and transformation in a sector leading environment.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 2nd June 2024.

The Management Recruitment Group has been exclusively retained for this campaign. All direct and third-party applications will be forwarded to them.
