KM4 Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be exclusively partnering with Bow School to recruit their Director of Finance and Operations in a newly created role.
This is an opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team of this ambitious and forward-looking school who offer outstanding education to both girls and boys joining Year 7 or the Sixth Form and are dedicated to ensuring that its students become 'world’ and 'career’ ready.
This is an exciting chance to play a key role in the strategic leadership of the school, leading financial planning, income generation and school operations across 'non teaching’ functions including: ICT, Facilities, HR, Administration, Contract Management and Compliance.
You will ensure the Governors, the Headteacher and Senior Leaders are best placed to maximise and optimise resources available to the school for the benefit of students, staff and other stakeholders. This includes providing accurate, timely advice and information to support decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for all financial matters relating to the school, this will include long, medium and short-term budget planning, life-cycle planning of major infrastructure, income generation, capital grants applications, major procurement and tendering, financial controls, banking, financial reporting and auditing.
- Delivery of all support services across the school including those offered by HR, Administration, ICT Support and Facilities. The DFO will be accountable for ensuring that these services are efficient, customer focused, innovative and offer high quality support to the school, its staff, students and other stakeholders.
- Delivery of all major capital or infrastructure projects across the school including the roll out of new ICT systems, technology, in and outsourcing of contracts and systems and process change.
- Responsible for the strategic improvement, development and efficiency of the operations functions of the school.
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory, policy, and legal obligations.
About You
- You will be a values led, technically astute individual; either a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or have a School Business Management Qualification: e.g. DSBM, CSBM, ADSBM) and a proven track record an in financial and operational leadership and strategic planning, within an educational setting.
- You will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of UK financial regulations, compliance, and risk management.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to diverse stakeholders.
- You will bring a background in a senior leadership role covering Finance and Operations and an engaging and inspiring approach to influence at all levels.
- A proactive problem solver, who is able to build strong relationships with stakeholders, students and staff across the school.
