We are a multi service charity who offer adult learning, access to free legal advice and community services that work with the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups to build stronger communities. Based over three sites in Stratford, Southwark and Holborn, we are looking for a Director to take our Community Services forward across the organisation whilst leading existing work and growth at Blackfriars Settlement in Southwark.
You will be adept at managing and developing partnerships, an experienced writer of bids to secure grants, funds and commissioned contracts. You will be astute, innovative and agile in spotting and making the absolute most of opportunities to ensure our work thrives into the future.
Open to ideas, collaborative, supportive and absolutely ‘can do’ you will also happily muck in when you need to! You will be part of the senior management team, a group of committed, skilled and passionate people who are such a pleasure to work with.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. A commitment to the work of the Settlement and ability to contribute to the mission.
2. Experience of successful leadership and management of community provision.
3. A strong interest in, and an understanding of mental health, working with older people and adult education.
4. Experience of managing services, at a strategic and operational level.
5. The ability to work effectively as a member of a small SMT and engage with discussions and decisions about subjects outside of their direct remit.
6. Proven, demonstrable experience of successful fundraising, of winning and delivering commissioned services or work supported by trusts or funds.
7. Ability to think strategically and analyse complex problems.
8. Ability to be innovative and creative in approach to problem solving.
9. Ability to inspire and motivate teams to build strong working relationships across a wide range of groups, both internally and externally.
10. Ability to relate effectively with others and to encourage and support colleagues to be innovative and creative.
11. Proven track record of successfully building and maintaining partnerships that both support and contribute to the work.
12. Excellent oral, written communication and analytical skills.
13. Excellent skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
14. Good competencies in Microsoft Office applications, and a working knowledge of social media.
15. Experience of managing a budget.
16. Experience of managing change successfully.
