What is the role?
As Financial Planning Analyst, you will work in partnership with the finance team and wider business to drive and deliver informative financial insights that will support key decision making for the future direction of Mencap. This is a key role for Mencap, offering the opportunity to work across a range of senior stakeholders (including the Executive team), to drive the provision of accurate and useful financial analysis. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will be given the opportunity to proactively shape and improve processes, becoming a key member of the finance and wider Mencap team. A summary of some of the key duties is as below:
- Manage Mencap’s annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes (ensuring delivery on time and accurate with provision of useful financial analysis)
- Provide analysis on Mencap’s rolling 3-year forecast positions, providing commentaries on assumptions and the impact of any key changes
- Run scenario analysis on budgetary and forecast positions with insightful information on impact potential to help inform senior stakeholder decisions
- Oversee the production of the Mencap monthly management accounts to delivery analysis on performance against budget.
- Partner with finance business partnering team to ensure effective training and use of budget-holder information
- Work with the Head of Finance to develop improved reporting and forecasting processes to help improve key financial information.

Who are we looking for?
- Fully qualified accountant
- Experienced in delivering financial analysis
- Experienced in working across finance and non-finance stakeholders to obtain and present insightful financial analysis and information
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Good excel skills and confident in working in a data driven environment.
- Passion for and interest in working for the work Mencap undertakes in supporting people with learning disabilities.
