About the role:
Goodman Masson are delighted to be exclusively supporting Homeless Link in their search for a Director of Finance and Resources. As part of the Senior Management Team, the postholder will drive the financial strategy and ensure the Finance and Resources functions are fit for purpose.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Homeless Link, a national membership charity who develop, support, and sustain a movement of organisations working together to tackle homelessness and achieve positive futures for those affected.
The organisation is offering a salary of up to £82,500 plus excellent benefits and great flexibility. This hybrid role will involve weekly visits to the Aldgate office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a financial strategy for short-term strength and long-term sustainability
- Creating annual budget and long-term financial plans supporting strategic frameworks and business plans
- Maximising cash flow, treasury, investments, and risk management, as well as implementing procurement, internal audit, assurance, and compliance strategies
- Leading the development of an IT strategy, identifying resource needs and ensuring all digital output complies with legal frameworks, and regularly assessing risks
- Taking corporate responsibility for all premises, ensuring safety, maximising value for money, and liaising with landlords as required
- Managing a team, holding appraisals, and providing guidance and support for the team's high-performance activities
- Playing an active role in the Senior Management Team and contributing to decision-making and strategic planning
The successful candidate:
- Fully qualified accountant
- Solid, demonstrable experience in:
- Strategic planning as a Senior Leader
- Day-to-day financial management
- Strong charity SORP knowledge
- Change management
- Managing a central resource function (IT, data, HR, premises)
- Managing and developing a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills, quick to build rapport, and a willingness to remain flexible to changing organisational needs
