The Director of Global Regulatory Compliance& MLRO is responsible for designing and maintaining Tipalti’s Regulatory Compliance strategy and putting in place policies and frameworks to achieve this strategy. This Director of Global Regulatory Compliance has an important role to monitor the business activity and ensure the business strategy and products comply with all applicable regulatory requirements in the different jurisdictions Tipalti operates in.
Tipalti operates in a highly regulated market globally. This person has a key role in maintaining the licences of the firm globally and complying with all applicable submissions and ongoing requirements. This role also liaises with the different regulators where Tipalti is located and ensures Tipalti maintains its standards and requirements.
As the MLRO of the UK office, this person is responsible for the firm's anti-money laundering framework, adjusting it to the firm’s business model and risks and supervising that the compliance operation function complies with the firm policies and regulatory requirements. In addition, the MLRO is responsible for monitoring the AML risk that Tipalti is exposed to and reviewing the effectiveness of the relevant controls.
This role supports and reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and has a responsibility to keep the senior management and the board ongoingly informed about the firm’s regulatory and AML risk.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and design the Global Regulatory Compliance and anti-money laundering programs and strategy.
- The contact person of the firm with relevant regulators and authorities.
- Maintain the firm licences globally and was responsible for all regulatory submissions and report filing.
- Assessing the firm’s money laundering risk and applying relevant controls when necessary to keep the risk within the firm’s risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain global policies and procedures that implement all applicable regulatory requirements and regulators’ guidance.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory development and ensuring the firm and its products comply with the applicable regulatory requirements.
- Supervising that the compliance operations function complies with all applicable money laundering regulatory requirements, internal policies and firm standards.
- Act as a regulatory advisor and keep the global Compliance Team and Board up to date about upcoming regulatory changes.
- Facilitate regulatory monitoring, analyse and prepare reports for senior management and the Board of Directors, and undergo audits with the support of the global Compliance team.
- Investigate and respond to compliance risk issues, and regulatory inquiries, including preparing required documentation and making recommendations to senior management on how to proceed.
- Design and supervise the compliance training program
- Lead external audits, and exams, and implement required mitigation plans.
About you
The Requirements:
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in a financial services firm, related e-money or payment institution firm with proven experience
- Strong technical knowledge of compliance regulations and requirements, AML frameworks, risk and typologies
- Excellent relationship management skills and ability to build strong working relationships with peers, colleagues and remotely based teams and individuals at all levels of the organisation as well as with Board Members and regulators
- Strong knowledge of the FinTech industry and its products
- Previous experience managing and developing a team
- A sense of urgency and aptitude for multi-tasking, quickly identifying issues and escalating to the appropriate level for resolution
- An ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and with distributed teams across different geographies & cultures;
- Preferably previously authorised by the FCA for a controlled function
- Active CAMS certification is desired but not required
