Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services (DSFS) are seeking to appoint their new Director of Operations and Estates. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, DSFS provides a full range of high performing, high quality and efficient core clinical services

The Director of Operations and Estates is a key member of the DSFS leadership team as well as of the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust leadership team and Statutory Director for DSFS Ltd as reported on Companies House. This is a critical role ensuring high standards of leadership and consistent, optimal performance across the breadth of Hard Facilities Management, site Operational services and Estates Capital activities.
As a member of the DSFS Board, and several key Committees in the wider Group, the post holder will have Leadership responsibilities for the development of the Hard FM, Health and Safety, compliance, Site management and Capital functions, ensuring consistently high standard of service provision to the Trust as the Company’s main customer and all other commercial customers.
As the Director of Operations and Estates, you will provide strong strategic and operational leadership to ensure transformative, effective, and efficient delivery of DSFS services to customers whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality, ensuring efficient use of resources, and promoting a culture that is in line with the organisations values and inclusivity pledge. You will be responsible for the team’s delivery of a range of KPIs relating to Hard FM, Health and Safety, compliance, site management and Capital Projects. You will ensure the efficient and economical use of the Trust’s annual Capital and revenue expenditure, in line with DSFS financial guidance and frameworks and be responsible for key programmes of work including the transformational change strategy and cost improvement programme for the areas of responsibility.
DSFS has circa 1000 staff across Soft and Hard Facilities Services with corporate services including, ICT, Patient Records, Switchboard, Procurement, Finance and Clinical Engineering. DSFS builds on solid NHS foundations to offer a more commercial approach that’s dynamic, flexible, and proactive.
