Job Title: Director of People
Responsible to: Trust Senior Executive Leader
Location: Flexible – home working, hybrid or school-based. Will need to visit and work at all schools within the Trust as necessary. Role term: Permanent
Part-time: Estimated 0.6FTE but flexible to discuss part-time and term-time only options.
Salary: Up to £65,000 pro-rated
Role purpose

We already offer a comprehensive investment in professional learning and development (PLD) both in our schools and at the level of the Trust.
To build on this we are looking for an energetic, passionate and strategic individual to lead on our Trust-level offer to our people. You will have the exciting opportunity of coming into a new Trust, owning and shaping our people strategy from day one.
A pragmatic and solution-focused leader, you will be our professional lead on HR. You will work collaboratively with our schools to develop this strategy, review our HR operating model, systems, processes and policies to ensure we deliver efficient, high-quality support to schools and staff. You will draw on your relationships with leaders of People in other academy Trusts and/or sectors across the country. You will then lead on the delivery of this strategy, working hands-on with local leaders and HR teams to ensure our schools are exciting and fulfilling places to work and teach.

Vision
▪ Lead on developing our Trust people strategy
▪ Lead on developing a strategic approach to talent management
▪ Promote school-to-school collaboration on all people issues
▪ Contribute to overall Trust strategy
▪ Be our professional lead on cross-Trust HR
Delivery
- Make our Trust people offer a reality, working closely with our schools, including by:
- Delivering on agreed cross-school priorities
- Leading on Trust-wide HR activities, including recruitment and employee policies
- Identifying relevant external partnerships and managing those relationships
- Working closely with our Head of PD to integrate our PD offer into the wider vision
- Evaluating the impact of our people offer, iterating our strategy accordingly
▪ Build a Trust-wide culture of excellence in supporting our people
▪ Lead on Trust-wide HR activities, including recruitment and employee policies
▪ Advise school HR teams across the Trust on issues of HR law and practice
External
▪ Develop partnerships with others in the sector
▪ Contribute to raising the profile of Skinners’ Academies Trust in relevant forums
▪ Ensure your own knowledge & expertise is at the forefront of debates in the sector
