Summary
The candidate will assist the Dispute Resolution Group with enforcement of the company’s IP rights and defense against patent infringement suits, including managing document collection and review and providing assistance to the company’s patent attorneys in adversarial patent office proceedings (including pre-grant and post-grant submissions) in Europe, Asia and throughout the world. Many of the disputes will require in-depth understanding of underlying technology and it is important for the candidate have a good understanding of the underlying nature of the dispute. The candidate is expected to work remotely for this role.
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills they may have acquired in college related to law and apply them in a professional setting. They will gain a better understanding of the role that the legal department plays in the business and be better prepared to work in the arena of the legal department.
The Student will:
- Read and analyse scientific literatures, reviews and patents
- Succinctly summarise the findings communicate with the team
- Conduct research and gather information from various sources on products and competitors
- Attend meetings with legal teams from around the world and occasionally with experts
- Attend various hearings as necessary
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a full-time program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD)
- Must be enrolled in University full-time, following their work at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.
- Must be confident in ability to work as part of a global team, with several key stakeholders based in US.
