County Cork covers a land area which is 11% of the Irish State and makes Cork Ireland’s largest county. County Cork has a population of approximately 359,000 citizens. The Council employs in excess of 2,700 staff and has an approved revenue budget of €458 million for 2024.
The Divisional Manager is a senior role, in effect acting as Chief Executive for the relevant Division, while subject to the direction and oversight of the Chief Executive of the Council. While they will direct and supervise operations in one of the three divisions of the county, the functional role involves taking management responsibility for county-at-large functions with an assigned reporting relationship from Directors of Service.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a proven track record as a strategic leader and senior manager in a complex environment;
- Have proven experience in the management of teams and resources of significant scale;
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills and the capacity to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders in a constructive manner.
