Positions available vary in that all the positions have the following:
- different days of the week,
- number of hours per week
- hours of the day vary being, morning, evening or night shifts or perhaps a combination
- Hospital where you may be based in to work

The post holder is expected to have an intimate working knowledge of the specifics for the service of the above supervisory position
Applications from Candidates with hospital experience and a suitable record of accomplishment would be advantageous.

Saturday / Sunday 7am – 3.30pm - 15 hours total

CXH nights porter supervisor
23:00-07;00
- Ensure a high-quality service is provided throughout Trust sites.
- Responsible for training, supervision, & guidance of staff, including induction and training of new staff.
- A 'hands on' approach, working with others to ensure a safe and pleasant environment is provided.
- Order, maintain, prepare & deliver sufficient supplies of food/beverages monitoring and maintaining stock levels within budget.
- Complete annual appraisals for staff, deliver monthly team briefs and communicate Trust and Department news and updates.
- To ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation, using chemicals in a safe and economical manner.
- Liaise with infection control as required. complete regular quality control audits in your area.
- Provide cover for staff and other Team Leaders in their absence.
- To liaise with Ward Managers on matters relating to Hotel Services and pass on any matters that requires the attention of the Hotel Services Managers.
- Compilation of duty rotas, holiday entitlement and allocation of work within your team. Ensure that enough staff are on duty at any given time to maintain the service within budget and facilitate the smooth running of the department within area of responsibility. Perform return to work interviews with staff on return from sickness.

- Supervise the work of staff in order to maintain and deliver a quality service according to set work schedules and procedures.
- Undertake daily reviews of work areas to ensure service delivery
- Deploy a team of staff as required, assessing workload schedules and allocating resource whilst prioritising urgent requests.
- Relocating staff to meet service need, including arranging cover for absences from work.
- Allocation of schedules of work, checking work schedules, making any temporary adjustments as may be required to meet the needs of the service
- Issue and monitor all equipment and materials in line with budget limits
- Manage and direct staff as appropriate, making regular visits to departments within agreed areas of responsibility
- Build and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients and other departmental supervisors.
- Motivate staff through good communication, regular team huddles and individual contact, progressing and feeding back to the management team on any issues raised, following up and ensuring actions are taken where appropriate
- Manage the weekly operational staff rotas.
- Assist in implementing and overseeing service policies and processes to the agreed standards
- Maintain a visible presence to patients, acting upon comments raised / shared in relation to service delivery, improving patient satisfaction levels and maintaining high standards within the service
- Recommends changes to policy and service delivery, implementing changes as appropriate in consultation with the Service Manager.
- Assist in the management of an effective complaints process in line with the Trust’s guidelines
- Report any accidents or incidents on Datix
- Undertaking any remedial action in areas that do not meet the required standards
- Responsible for monitoring, recording and reporting of sickness absence
- Undertake return to work interviews following absences from work
- Authorisation of annual leave or other leave requests ensuring these are maintained within service requirements
- Able to provide assistance to patients and visitors to the hospitals
- Able to evaluate and determine the appropriate point and means of escalation
- Participate in recruitment activities for staff
- Assist in, organise and implement appropriate training for staff in line with personal development plans and divisional business plans
- Developing and supporting training programmes for new starters to include ‘buddying’ schemes and mentoring
- Maintain all health and safety training to compliant levels
- Working Hands on Supervisor leading small portering and teams
- Ensure staff comply with health and safety regulations
- Review deliveries and ensure all goods have been delivered from the suppliers
- Manage staff performance issue
- Analyse and resolve staff queries, including pay matters
