Domestic Violence Support Worker

Rocasa Consulting are looking to recruit to Temporary Support Officer with experience in assessing Clients fleeing Domestic Violence or similar based in Oxford for a minimum of 3 months paying up to GBP15.49ph via Umbrella.

• To take referrals and carry out needs assessments of prospective clients, liaising with health professionals, other agencies and colleagues as appropriate.
• Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist (DASHH) and any other assessment tools.
• To ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements and all related procedures.
• To agree and review Client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basis and deliver contracted hours of support in line with service specification.
• To deliver structured support groups as appropriate to the service specification and/or local need.
• Advocate for victims with internal departments, outside agencies and other stake holders and contacts where appropriate to ensure delivery of support.

Essential criteria

• Evidence of Child Protection experience
• Experience of working in support, housing or care role with vulnerable people, with an understanding of homelessness prevention strategies
• Experience of managing risk in line with multi-agency protocols
• Understanding of how to support people in obtaining and maintaining independent living skills in a planned and structured way
• Excellent knowledge of using Word, Excel and database packages in order to maintain accurate records
• Current Enhanced DBS Check
