Drainage / Flood Risk Engineer

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary: Very Competitive + Excellent Benefits

The Client:

Our client, an independent environment practice, integrates architecture, engineering, planning, and surveying services for diverse projects.

The Role:

As a Drainage / Flood Risk Engineer, you will contribute to diverse projects, focusing on residential and non-residential developments, enhancing drainage and Flood Risk strategies.

They will consider senior candidates only.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Surface Water Drainage Strategies.
- Developing strategies for foul water drainage to bolster Planning Applications.
- Utilise Micro drainage / Flow software to model drainage networks.
- Input into site masterplans for optimal drainage integration.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently, meeting deadlines and budgetary constraints.
- Regularly review company practices and associated policies for continuous improvement.
- Assist in team management and development.


Requirements:

- Previously worked as a Drainage Engineer, Flood Risk Engineer or in a similar role.
- Possess 2+ years of experience.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy documents.
- Background in management of drainage and Flood Risk elements of a project.
- Understanding of UK Drainage / Flood Risk Regulation / Best Practice.
- Skilled in Micro drainage / Flow, Micro station / AutoCAD, Microsoft Office.
- Experience in preparing Transport Statements/Assessments, Travel Plans, and Utility Assessments (beneficial)
- Degree level education (preferred)
