You'll join our expert team of experienced Security Professionals, so you can learn directly from the best. You'll help to provide technical support on complex network security and cyber security deployments for our UK secure contracts. Working across a variety of different platforms and technologies, including Data Centre Servers, Networking and Cloud based tools, you'll develop a wide range of skills and experience.
This role is vital in delivering a best-in-class customer service experience to all of our clients. The security team makes sure appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of incidents and maintain services, to avoid any impact to the customer's set up.
It's a job that involves a lot of teamwork; everyone relies on and helps each other to do the best job possible for our business customers. You'll have a lot going on at once and can be managing lots of complex workloads and competing priorities. But we'll work with you to make sure you can manage it.
What you'll be doing
Why this job matters: Responsible for the maintenance and in life support of all Targeted Interception (TI), Data Retention (DR) and Data Disclosure (DD) platforms in the UK and Globally, and the identification and management of operational risks to UK and Non-UK TI & DD platforms.
- Contributes to a program of work that ensures that all Obligations platforms remain stable and able to provide data as required under out legal obligations.
- For their area of responsibilities, the role holder is responsible for driving forward technical improvements with other areas of BT to ensure that all platforms deliver what is required by the Obligations team.
- Contributes to the maintenance of TI capabilities on the mobile, fixed, WiFi networks and platforms (both within the UK and overseas) to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and HMG security requirements whilst protecting the interests of the business.
- Contributes to meeting business objectives, solving business problems and furthering business success by applying industry, applications and technical knowledge through the definition of high-level solutions on projects or the development of operational processes and procedures.
- Contributes to the development of service improvements programme and that they are maintained and followed as appropriate.
- Contributes to the Acceptance into Service (AIS) so that new products or solutions are transitioned to the support team in a consistent and secure way.
- Contributes to ensuring that the security and integrity of the platforms is maintained against CIS standards.
- Contributing to the maintenance of relevant security registrations.
The skills & experience you'll need
The role is also subject to you gaining and keeping the necessary level of security clearance needed to undertake your work. The result of the security clearance vetting is not subject to appeal. Failure to successfully achieve and maintain the necessary level of security clearance may see any offer of employment with BT cease or withdrawn.
We will also be looking for the following:
• A 2.2 degree or higher in a relevant STEM subject.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• The ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Desired but not essential:
• Knowledge or experience of contact centre, video, collaboration, or voice technologies.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to have DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum will be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.
