The purpose of this job is to ensure that early education and childcare places in non-maintained settings are of high quality and conform to all regulatory requirements. The post holder will provide advice, support and challenge to all Early Years providers including , day nurseries, pre-schools childminders and limited work in schools. The post holder will have responsibility to develop, promote and help sustain high quality childcare and education with non-maintained settings throughout the Borough for children aged 0-5, through close working with a range of providers and professionals across the sector. The post holder will jointly lead the Quality Improvement team to ensure provision for children 0-5 years is of the highest quality, inclusive and provides stimulating, and exciting experiences to improve outcomes for all children.

About you
You will be a qualified teacher and you will have knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and quality provision. You will have experience of developing and delivering quality Early Years teaching and experience of working collaboratively across a range of sectors/ professionals to promote best outcomes for children. Experience of working with parents and carers to promote health, early education, well being and safeguarding. You will have the ability to communicate clearly with a range of audiences, both verbally and in written form and to communicate complex ideas with clarity and precision. You will have a creative approach to support quality development in the Early Years. You will have a commitment to work to the Council’s equal opportunities policies and a working knowledge of the Equality Act 2010, including understanding of the diversity of the borough and its impact. You will have the ability to promote inclusive practice, social inclusion and celebrate diversity. You will be able to read data and inform management of market trends in terms of quality and be able to work alone, self-motivate and contribute to teamwork.
