Puffins Preschool and Day Nursery is a family-run company with two settings; Walton on Thames and Windlesham.

We strive to provide a positive, fun and home-from-home environment for our team, the children we care for and their families.

Our aim at Puffins is to inspire the young minds of tomorrow by supporting each child's individual growth and development through a play based learning structure.

Puffin's Preschool and Day Nursery, Windlesham are looking for reliable, passionate and motivated Early Years Practitioners to join our small and friendly team within our Preschool Room.

Skills, qualities and qualifications:

• Completion of a recognised Childcare qualification to a minimum of Level 2 is preferable, but not compulsory.
• A positive approach and passion to gaining further training.
• Some understanding of the importance of safeguarding, health and safety and food hygiene in the workplace, and must be willing to attend training courses in this area.
• An up to date Paediatric First Aid course, or willingness to attend such course.
• Previous experience of caring for or working with children aged 0-5 years in a paid or voluntary capacity.
• An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development.
• A commitment to the provision of high-quality childcare.
• A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and on-going training opportunities.
• Good written and verbal skills for observations and planning for key children, and excellent communication skills with children, team members and parents and carers.
• Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills.
• Punctuality, patience, reliability and trustworthiness.
• Enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Flexibility; from time to time you may be required to attend team meetings, open days or parent's evenings that are held out of normal working hours.
• Positive approach to inclusive practice with children and other team members.
• Opportunities for Forest School and SENCO training.
• Willingness to have fun, be silly and put smiles on children's faces!
