What a day might look like for you
Here at RSPCA we know it's a cliche but no two days are the same, as an Education Officer we've added a short summary of what a typical day might look like, for a full insight please refer to the attached job description.
The work of our Education Hub is split into two strands. Our Outreach Officer works in the field delivering sessions to communities in the North West region. Whilst our site based Education Officers deliver innovative projects at Stapeley Grange, with some outreach in the local community, that aims to nurture and encourage the values of kindness and compassion towards all animals.
Joining our existing Education Officer, Outreach Officer and Casual staff, this role will involve the development and delivery of animal welfare education sessions and activities for children, teenagers and adults. There will be a focus on delivery onsite including 1:1 work on our Virtual School Programme, small group and whole class sessions (typically primary school age), visits from colleges, universities, community groups, community events and work with volunteers. There will also be work in our immediate area on local outreach involving community groups, schools and nurseries. You will also be involved in work to maintain and utilise the newly relocated award winning RSPCA RHS Chelsea Garden, for educating about wildlife gardening for focus groups and activities within your sessions.
If you're an enthusiastic, creative, dedicated and patient individual who enjoys working with people of all ages, from a range of backgrounds, and who is passionate about natural history and animal welfare then we want to hear from you!

We are really lucky that some of our roles attract a high level of interest and for this reason we review applications as they are received, unfortunately on some occasions this means roles may close earlier than advertised; so early submissions are highly recommended.
We want to ensure we do all we can to give you a positive candidate experience through our recruitment. Whilst we do try to give feedback where we can, sometimes due to receiving high levels of applications, this may not always be possible

For this reason we actively encourage a wide diversity of applications - in particular from members of minority ethnic groups, and people with disabilities - as these candidates are currently under-represented at the RSPCA.
