With mental health in the spotlight, this is a key time for us to make a significant impact on young people’s mental health and expand our audience of young people, adults, and professionals. As our organisation and reach grows, we are now looking for a Training and Events Officer to join our brilliant team.
Working within our parent and carer services department, you will offer support to our busy Parents Helpline (PHL) team who provide advice and guidance to parents and carers of young people.
This exciting and varied role will see you overseeing events, facilitating training spaces for the team, co-ordinating media opportunities and inducting new PHL staff into the organisation.
You will also use data insights to inform topical points of discussion as well as develop content for our new webinar series, helping us to reach a larger audience of parents/carers.
One of the key aspects of this role is to develop and implement an annual training plan for our team of Helpline Advisers. This plan will help to ensure advisers have the knowledge, confidence, and cultural humility they need to be able to hold safe and inclusive conversations with parents and carers seeking support for their child’s mental health.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on meeting the following criteria:
- experience of coordinating and facilitating training sessions
- experience of designing and leading events
- experience of coordinating and/or developing visual content such as webinars and videos
- good verbal and written communication skills
- demonstrable understanding of mental health problems, illnesses and disorders, and the challenges faced by children, young people, parents, and families. Knowledge of mental health service provision.
- knowledge and understanding of AJEDI (Anti-Racism, Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion)
We welcome applications from Black, Asian and minoritised, and LGBTQIA+ groups as they are currently under-represented.
We hope that you would like to join us at a very exciting stage of our growth and development. You’ll be joining a bright, dynamic team who have a passion for supporting our ambitions.
