The Biochemical Society is seeking an Education, Public Engagement and Training Manager to support the next generation of biochemists and provide opportunities for people of all ages and experience to explore and engage with molecular bioscience.
In this role, the postholder will manage the Society’s careers activities and lead on the development and implementation of careers activities and resources for school and further education audiences, led by community feedback and need. In addition, develop and coordinate events (e.g. science festivals), activities and resources to increase Public Engagement with the molecular biosciences, developing and maintaining a Public Engagement volunteer list (through a ‘train the trainers’ type programme) and working in partnership with other organizations within and beyond the STEM community.
The postholder will lead and deliver on agreed strategy across our popular programme of education and Public Engagement events, activities and resources for students, teachers, scientists and the general public, and play a key role in taking forward the Society’s training programme.
Suitable candidates will have a background in science and/or science communication and excellent organisational skills.
Although advertised as remote, there are options available for working within an office in London up to a few days per week, should that be preferred.
