Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form

As our school continues to develop and grow we are looking for ETA's to come and join our fantastic team to help deliver a huge range of different strategies and approaches and to support the learning to individuals and small groups of people under the supervision of the teacher. We have both full time (31 hours) and part time positions available. ETA's normal start time is 8.50am and finish time is 3.25pm, however, you be expected to attend some after school meetings and training sessions which are planned in advance.

We are a safe nurturing school where individuals are celebrated and our pupils are supported to develop their unique potential and are given a fresh start every day.   All our people are skilled in providing person centred support to our pupils. We are proud of the warm and nurturing environment we have built which is a continuing key priority for us.

Our school works across 3 different pathways:

Orchard: For pupils who benefit (or will be able to) from a more formal curriculum. In most cases, their primary need is cognition and learning.

Forest: For pupils who need a semi-formal curriculum. In most cases, their primary need is communication and interaction.

Woodland: For pupils with high levels of anxiety who need a more personalised and flexible approach. Their primary need is usually around their social, emotional and mental health.

As well as being classroom based our ETA's have the opportunity to support our outreach programme providing guidance and support to colleagues in other schools across Kirklees. We are also due to open our satellite provision within the grounds of Newsome Academy and ETA's will have the opportunity to support the pupils attending this provision.

At Southgate, we value all our people and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our incredible and diverse children and young people.  As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and we support progression and professional development. Working for Southgate you will be provided with the following:
