AYG Chemical has partnered with a Leading Chemical Company who is looking to appoint an EHS Coordinator to be based in their Manchester site.
As the EHS Coordinator, you'll lead the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) efforts Your role involves ensuring compliance with HSE legislation, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a safe workplace environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain HSE policies and guidelines.
- Support achievement of HSE objectives and KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement in HSE practices.
- Assist managers in understanding HSE legal requirements.
- Maintain an integrated HSE Management System meeting ISO standards.
- Conduct and maintain risk assessments.
- Liaise with external bodies for investigations and queries.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Provide training on HSE requirements.
- Conduct housekeeping audits and address issues.
- Maintain and update H&S and Environmental Legal Register.
- Produce regular HSE reports and action plans.
- Support budgeting process and cost control.
- Evaluate environmental impacts and set objectives for improvement.
- Coordinate Occupational Health visits and health surveillance.
- Assist in sustainability initiatives.
Experience:
- NEBOSH certification.
- 5+ years' experience in H&S in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of UK HSE law.
- Knowledge of ISO standards.
- Experience working in Europe and with compliance portals is desirable.
