Our department are looking for someone who is able to ensure that children on the Elective Home Education (EHE) register are receiving education that is suitable to their age, aptitude and any special educational needs they may have as well as be responsible for taking appropriate action where the education provided does not meet the expected standards.
You will be required to engage with parents who have chosen to educate their children at home, offering advice and guidance where appropriate and to develop a respectful and supportive relationship with them, whilst maintaining their understanding of the clear responsibilities and duties of the Local Authority to ensure all children receive a suitable education.

About you
We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate excellent judgement in analysing complex situations and documentation; working with parents and other agencies to develop solutions.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop on your existing skills by having the ability to work under pressure to prioritise and organise own workload as well as have the ability to act swiftly to ensure that appropriate safeguarding referrals are made in a timely manner.
We do ask that you are Educated to degree level and have Qualified Teacher Status.
Applicants for this role will need to have in-depth negotiating, influencing and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage and persuade hard to reach parents, who may be angry or frustrated, and develop and maintain constructive relationships as well as have excellent IT skills – able to devise, maintain and extract information form Excel and Databases to track students and produce meaningful statistics.
This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
