Job description

Job Title:Electrical Assessor

Location: Middlesbrough

Salary: Up to £32,900 Per Annum

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week

Annual Leave: 30 Per Annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Pension: NEST Pension Scheme

Job Purpose: The Assessor is responsible for a caseload of learners participating in training. Assessors contribute to the design and delivery of learning programmes and assessments, to enable participants to successfully achieve their qualifications to include full Apprenticeship standards. Assessors liaise closely with Employers and have a key role in developing learners to achieve their learning goals and inspiring them to overcome barriers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate learner induction, assessment, and individualised learning plans, collaborating with employers.
  • Foster partnerships with external entities for learner recruitment.
  • Provide guidance to learners and employers, ensuring timely goal achievement.
  • Conduct assessments and deliver Functional Skills within the NVQ program.
  • Maintain learner caseload, supporting NVQ and Apprenticeship Standard attainment.
  • Expand business with current and new employers.
  • Collaborate within a team to tailor lesson plans to learner needs.
  • Continuously assess learning needs and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual standards, emphasising recruitment, retention, and achievement.
  • Cultivate a conducive learning environment promoting learner safety and confidence.
  • Meet targets in alignment with organisational strategy.
  • Perform health and safety risk assessments for work-based training.
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute to program performance management.
  • Engage in continuous improvement through reviews and staff participation in development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Electrical Installation - Essential
  • English and Maths GCSE grade C or above- or equivalent - Essential
  • Level 3 Electrical Engineering - Desirable
  • TAQA or A1 assessor qualification, or willing to work towards- Desirable
  • Teaching qualification, or willing to work towards - Desirable.
  • Award in Internal Verification or V1, or willing to work towards - Desirable.
  • Qualified Electrician
  • Electrical Engineering Experience - Desirable.
