Travel: Some international travel
Schedule: Fully on-site for the first 3-4 months, then up to 50% hybrid (2-3 days remote per week)
Responsibilities:
- Update designs on existing projects.
- Support customer service and spare parts teams.
- Analyze client needs and find solutions.
- Assess development costs and risks.
- Ensure systems meet requirements.
- Create and update technical documents.
- Assist with project bids and technical issues.
- Help choose and prepare components.
- Document crane automation and control changes.
- Work with electrical and software engineers, and other teams.
- Perform on-site investigations and tests as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Strong communication skills.
- Open to new technologies.
- Experience with Safety and Non-safety PLC systems (Codesys).
- SCADA systems development.
- Understanding of PLC safety and Performance Levels (PLr / SIL).
- Familiarity with Zuken E3 or similar software.
- Problem-solving and project management skills.
- Bonus: Experience with ABB PLCs, industrial networks, and Ethernet networks.
- Comfortable working in heavy machinery environments and crane commissioning.
- Willing to travel internationally and work at heights.
Preferred:
- Living in Kerry or willing to relocate.
- German language skills (plus for working with German-speaking colleagues).
- Other language skills for global projects.
