Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in the accurate and timely preparation of cost estimates for projects, ensuring that Celtic Process Control continues to deliver competitive and high-quality solutions to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and have a proven track record in estimation within our specialist sectors.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analysing project specifications, drawings, and related documents
2. Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, subcontract spend, plant and equipment hire, labor and other expenses
3. Work closely with our clients, designers, engineers and contractors to provide a comprehensive bid package
4. Review and evaluate cost estimates prepared by team members to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
5. Maintain current knowledge of the industry trends, codes, and regulations applicable to the electrical engineering and construction sectors
6. Liaise with suppliers and contractors to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions
7. Participate in bid and proposal meetings, providing clear and precise feedback and recommendations
8. Utilize estimation software and tools effectively to improve efficiency and accuracy of estimates
9. Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth transition from estimation to project initiation
Experience:
1. 5-10 years experience in the electrical/MEICA contracting industry with supervisory, engineering or project management experience
2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical estimation
3. Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail
4. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging effectively with all stakeholders
5. Proficient in using estimation software and MS 365
6. Knowledge of current electrical standards and compliance requirements
7. Ability to work under pressure - independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment- and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
