This is under review as discussed.After 3 months service you will be entitled to death in service cover of 1X annual earningsAfter 3 months service you will also be entitled to membership of simply health, our health care cash plan scheme, at no cost to you.Flexible with booking holiday within reason.The roleYou will be part of a 2-man team working a 3-shift rota. On your team will be a Mechanical fitter, and yourself the Electrician. You will be tasked to carry out preventative maintenance tasks as well as be reactive with regards to plant breakdowns and repairs.You will also be required to carry out Installation work on machinery and within the factory and any maintenance work on bay lighting and other electrical services.All actions need to be carried out in a safe and professional manor, reporting to supervisors, and filling out daily shift reports and other necessary paperwork.General Scope of workInstallation work on both factory and process machinery.Fault find on 415v, 240v, 110v and 24vac and dc systems.Follow CCT diagrams to aid fault finding.PLC, establish necessary input/output (no program facility)Fault find on OHC’s, Remote handsets, contactor function, fuses.DC drives/inverters basic knowledge would be an advantage.Maintain high bay lighting replacement, repair, and LED upgrade.Test emergency lighting and evacuation alarm system.Involved in CCT design and control panel building.However as per the nature of the business, other general maintenance task wills be required.Experience/Qualifications RequiredCompleted Apprenticeship/time served would be preferred. 18th Edition IEE Regs preferred, but not essential. NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance or any other relevant qualification. We will need to see proof of certification.Heavy Industrial work. Experience of Slitting/Decoiling machines would be an advantage.Driving licence preferred but not essential.3-month probationary periodTrade TestsCheck fuses.Test continuity hydraulic/pneumatic coilInsulation resistance test 3 phase motor to earthTest motor windings continuityIdentify equipment.Live testLook at Drawings.Hours & Shift Pattern subject to change. As they are a 24 hour production site, maintenance cover is required at all times. Overtime will be required to cover holiday’s and/or absence, so flexibility on shift hours is essential to suit the business demand and changes to business needs. Weekend working – A minimum of 1 Saturday in 3 required following the 6-2 shift as well as holiday cover and/or emergency breakdown cover as and when required. Additional overtime will be required to suit business needs.Drug & Alcohol PolicyOur client have a zero tolerance approach to Drugs & Alcohol. As such all new employees will be required to undergo a drug & alcohol test on the first day of employment.
