What you will be doing:
Being a Higher Technical Apprentice at Airbus means you will get to develop both mechanical and electrical skills within our programme. You will be immersed in a stimulating design and manufacturing environment.
Over the course of 3 years, you will study towards an HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with the possibility of attaining an HND should you be eligible.
You will also attain a level 4 standard, which will run alongside the HNC course, gaining both academic knowledge and practical experience on this apprenticeship.
During your apprenticeship you will have a unique chance to experience different areas of our space craft business which provide you with a comprehensive understanding of how Airbus Defence & Space works. This includes the following:
Working in small teams or on a one-to-one basis to develop, use and maintain advanced production techniques for Spacecraft Electronics.
Design, engineer or manufacture Spacecraft structures, propulsion systems and Mechanisms using the latest space approved processes.
Perform and monitor simulations of the launch environment and space environmental conditions to test flight assemblies or component parts.
Work on cutting edge technologies like growing the world’s purest crystals for use in zero gravity conditions.

Requirements:
In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
At least five achieved GCSEs at grade 4/C which must include:
Grade 5/6 (B) in Maths;
Grade 4/C English;
OR
Equivalent qualifications such as BTEC L3 STEM related subjects OR BTEC L2 at Distinction + at least one STEM GCSE.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following;
Passion for engineering: Curious to understand how things work ; Appropriate extra curricular activities or hobbies will be considered;
Submit your CV stating your predicted or achieved grades in your application;
Submit a cover letter stating your motivation for this role in your application.
Important Information
GRADES : Please note for all applicants your offer will be conditional until we receive evidence of the required grades prior to the 31st August 2024, and in addition completing all pre-employment appointments and online forms.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Initially you will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check) AND Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance.
