About Client:
An international packaging manufacturer with over 350 locations across the world and produces a range of recycled packaging products for the European corrugated case making industry.
About the Role:
Looking for an experienced and qualified Electrical Technician to join my client, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving the electrical equipment and systems. You will also work closely with the production team to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the process.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine checks and repairs on electrical equipment and systems and report any issues
- Understand and monitor the making process and its control systems and optimize efficiency, reliability and safety
- Complete relevant paperwork and risk assessments for any proposed work and follow company policies and procedures
- Carry out maintenance on equipment during planned and unplanned shuts and communicate any problems or delays
- Assist and lead other departments and colleagues during operations, breakdowns and machine shuts
- Undertake improvement, extension or modification projects on equipment as required
- Maintain high standards of equipment and product quality and quantity
Candidate Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years experience as an Electrical Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Relevant qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent, with ONC minimum requirement
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, components, and standards, with understanding of 3 phase control systems
- Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and other control systems, with PLC fault finding and problem diagnosis skills (not programming)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges
