SalaryAn opportunity is available for a Technician (Fitting) based at Ty Coch, Cwmbran.
You will be accountable to the Team Manager for the maintenance and replacement of plant up to 66kV and the diagnosis and restoration of supplies to customers affected by HV and LV faults. The role will also include the issue of safety documents and the carrying out of network operations up to 66kV, the repair of plant and cables, and carrying out protection maintenance, testing and repair.
You are required to have grade A*-C/4-9 GCSE in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 qualification in both subjects. In addition, you must hold a City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Operationally we require you to live within approximately 30 minutes of the depot you are applying for.
*Please note the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.
If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

The Ideal CandidateYou will need to have a flexible attitude and prepared to work on your own or as part of a team. You will be customer focused and be able to resolve customer complaints, wherever possible directly. The ability to use Company computer systems will also be vital to the role. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area, as you will be required to undertake standby duties.
If not already attained, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339.
