The Role

My client, a global energy services company is looking for an Electronic Test Engineer. As an Electronic Test Engineer, you will conduct bench tests and repairs on fully assembled electronic PCBs, subassemblies, and Compact tools. This role involves adhering to approved engineering drawings and specifications while meticulously recording data for monitoring and quality purposes.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Perform bench tests and repairs on electronic PCBs, subassemblies, and Compact tools.
• Systematically record all test data for monitoring and quality purposes.
• Conduct environmental stress screening (ESS) on downhole PCB sub-assemblies to ensure fitness for purpose.
• Prioritize and perform tests and repairs based on the Test Supervisor's guidance to meet monthly production schedules.
• Collaborate with inspection, mechanical assembly, and engineers to maintain precision aspects at each testing stage.
• Assist engineering and production in achieving continuous quality, reliability, and cost improvements in Electronic Testing.
• Multitask between Test and Wiring departments as needed, maintaining workflow continuity during workload fluctuations.

The Candidate

• Minimum HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Electronic Test and repair experience, including precision equipment at the component level.
• Proficient in analogue and digital testing.
• Capability to work from circuit diagrams and schematics.
• Familiarity with small electronic equipment manufacture, especially in instrumentation and measurement.
• Proficient in traditional Electronic Test instrumentation (e.g., oscilloscope, digital multimeter).
• Essential electronic hand soldering iron and desoldering skills.
• Experience in electrical stress screening (environmental testing).
