Address We’re looking for a EL/PL Team Manager to join our Shared Service Centre in Bradford. This is hybrid working – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote.
This role joins our Insurance Department and is responsible for managing a team of qualified lawyers who investigate and defend Employers and Public Liability claims on behalf of our clients. The team is also responsible for defending Property and Utility Damage claims, and Criminal Streetworks Prosecutions.
What will you be doing?
- Coordinating and assisting on all cases handled by the team and ensure consistent strategy across claims/tactics and provide technical input where required.
- Preparing and delivering monthly/quarterly presentations to Insurers/Stakeholders, providing high level updates on performance and case management.
- Develop an understanding of all workstreams: Property & Utility Damage, EL/PL Personal Injury Claims, RTA, ULR, Criminal Streetworks Prosecutions and Data Protection Claims.
- Ensure compliant claims handling in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee escalations and complaints.
- Providing input in leadership meetings in the overall performance of the team.
- Analysis of impact of outcomes of claims to the wider business and consideration of potential feedback to stakeholders.
- Audit all performance and report on results
- Provide input for and work with the Senior Manager on projects.
- Identifying and handling legal risk and escalating clearly and precisely to Management where appropriate.
We tend to look for people with:
Essential
- Qualified Solicitor or Cilex status with previous experience in litigation and ELPL claims.
- Experience of leading a team.
- Legal background
- Experience of dealing with stakeholders across all levels
Desirable
- Defendant claims handling experience
- Understanding of Management Information
