Client Details
A growing social housing care organisation based in central Brighton are looking to recruit a full time Emergency Accommodation Scheme Manager.
Provide day to day management for the Brighton Emergency Accommodation services to provide Emergency Accommodation for those who are homeless, vulnerable or excluded from a diverse range of backgrounds. Manage the Emergency Accommodation team to ensure that services are delivered to a high standard and are fully compliant with organisational values, contractual requirements are met and reflect current good practice. Manage and support the Emergency Accommodation team in providing housing and maintenance/facilities management of the service ensuring voids turnaround KPI's in accordance with the Brighton and Hove contract.
Description
As Emergency Accommodation Scheme Manager you will be responsible for:
- To oversee the day to day running of the Emergency Accommodation within Brighton
- Manage, motivate and develop the Emergency Accommodation team to fulfil their potential and consistently deliver a quality service to all external agencies, and its customers.
- Manage the maintenance budget for the onsite team.
- Oversee the voids turnaround and ensure that all deadlines are met to reduce any potential loss of income.
- Ensure compliance with the health and safety management policies and procedures, risk assessments and training modules by the Emergency Accommodation team.
- Support the wider team on contractual compliance.
- Managing and escalating situations in line with the agreed risk levels including Safeguarding; Safety, Insurance liabilities and reputational risk.
- Undertake regular checks on rental income and take appropriate action to maximise service charge collection from customers.
- Support the senior management team in contributing to planning, project management and developing Housing's services.
- To work closely on a daily basis with external service/contract providers to ensure a seamless service for customers.
- To establish positive and professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Respond via telephone to extreme out of hours emergencies in connection with the accommodation services.
Profile
- Managerial experience within a Social Housing background
- Good knowledge of local, regional and national housing initiatives, strategies and policies relating to homelessness and prevention
- Experience in developing / maintaining cross-team / sector networks and liaisons to ensure collaborative working in a multi agency setting
- Proven experience of reviewing, developing, and implementing new practices and procedures and of managing staff through change to achieve success
- Knowledge of asset management
